Abstract Modern constrol systems demand complex, high-performance, and high-speed control. Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) is the one that can satisfy this demand. PLC is a key control device indispensable in today’s industrial field. Ladder diagram(LD) is the most used language for controlling PLC but in recent years, Sequential Function Chart(SFC) has been used more frequently. SFC language has an advantage that the flow of the entire control is easy to understand and easy to maintain. However, when designing a control system using this SFC language, it has drawbacks in simultaneous operation in the common program part which is different from the original work such as home return and self diagnosis function among control programs. In this paper, we propose a method to implement the common program part of the confrol system and the self diagnosis function using the macroblock, and confirmed its validity.
