Abstract Wireless sensors have been developed in a variety of ways for the convenience of installation, management, maintenance of sensors. In particular, harvesting wireless sensors can be permanently used without recharging or exchanging batteries because they can permanently collect energy from the outside environment and are used in a variety of application in home IoT and industries. however, the harvesting wireless sensor is influenced by the life of sensor due to the sudden change of the external environment, and the reduction of the operation time to extend the life also affects the performance of the devices connected to the network. in this paper, we present a system performance index which is defined by integrating the performance of solar cell wireless sensor and network-connected device into one numerical value. it is confirmed that the figure of merit is used an energy management index of wireless sensor and it can affect not only the lifetime of the sensor but also the performance of the device. in addition, we present a dynamic power distribution control to improve the system performance index, and it is confirmed that the lifetime of the wireless sensor is improved and the performance of the device is improved.
