Abstract Today, there has been a growing demand for real-time network technologies in industrial fields such as automobiles, manufacturing, and robots. Accordingly, Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) technology based on Ethernet technology has attracted attention. In this paper, we analyze the negative effects of using the legacy CoDel AQM scheme to mitigate the problem of asynchronous traffic buffered in the Gated scheduling environment of TSN. next, we point out the problem of Gated CoDel AQM by Gated scheduling of TSN and propose a new Gate Adaptive CoDel AQM method which improves it. The proposed method minimizes the effect of Gated scheduling by operating the CoDel AQM algorithm using the virtual time flow only in the non-blocking period of the Gated scheduler. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we compare the performance of Goodput, packet dropping rate, link utilization, etc. through simulations using the same TCP congestion situation in the existing CoDel AQM, Gated CoDel AQM and Gate Adaptive CoDel AQM using a network simulator. And Based on XMOS processor architecture, Gated scheduling for TSN and 3-port Ethernet Switch module for supporting AQM are designed and verified.
