Abstract This paper presents design and implementation of a retrodirective radio frequency system using conjugate phase for long-range wireless power transfer. The implemented system uses 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz frequencies for transmitter and receiver, respectively, in order to operate in the industrial scientific medical (ISM) band. An isolation between transmitter output and receiver input is important for receiver sensitivity and beamforming accuracy of system. For the isolation, bandpass filters are incorporated in the implemented system. In addition, a circulator module with high isolation characteristic using feed-forward cancellation technique is presented. The isolation is improved by 18dB and 21dB at 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz, respectively. By using the isolation-enhanced circulator, the number of filter in the implemented system was reduced.
