Abstract |
In this paper, we consider a link selection scheme of backhaul link based on location information and quality of service (QoS) in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications. To efficiently use the wireless resource and guarantee the QoS, the location information and QoS requirement by the policy are addressed in the proposed link selection scheme. Especially, the elevation angle, the line of sight (LOS) channel environment, and the requirement of the link connectivity for services are used in the proposed scheme. In the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed scheme can guarantee the QoS performance in the data service. Furthermore, the resource usage can be reduced as compared with that of the on-demand scheme because the proposed scheme is a proactive link selection scheme based on the location information and the QoS. For VoIP and video streaming services, regardless of the elevation angle and the LOS channel environment, it also indicated that the proposed scheme provides the required QoS performance by the QoS policy in the UAV communications. |
