Abstract |
Recently, low power wide area (LPWA) network technologies working on the unlicensed bands have been actively developed for supporting internet of things (IoT) communications, and LoRa system is the most widely used one. Although LoRa's MAC specification is an open standard, its PHY specification which is Semtech's proprietary technology is not fully disclosed. In this paper, we will investigate LoRa PHY performance in fading environments. First, through computer simulations in fading environments, we analyze the relation between SER and BER of LoRa modulation. We also compare the performance gain according to the application of 1/2 rate convolutional code instead of the original (8,4) hamming code in LoRa PHY. |
