Abstract Ryu's DOA tracking method has less computation and is no need for a data association. Also it can be applied even if the sensor array is arbitrary shape. Sensor Array is composed of several acoustic sensors, receiving sound signals from targets for DOA tracking of targets. However, Ryu's method is difficult to apply in environments where the shape of the sensor array changes dynamically over time, such as TASS (Towed Array Sonar System) in which the sensor array is towed by the ship. In this paper, a multiple target DOA tracking method is proposed, which is combined with the DOA tracking method of Ryu and the array shape estimation method based on FDM (Field Directivity Map). The proposed method estimates the DOAs of the targets using the acoustic signal of the target received from the sensor array, and then estimates the shape of the array using the estimated DOAs of targets. In other words, the proposed method estimates both the DOAs of targets and the array shape at the same time. This structure of the proposed method makes it possible to apply even in environments where the shape of the sensor array changes dynamically over time. In addition, the proposed method retains the advantages of Ryu's method. In this paper, the performance of the proposed method was verified through computer simulations.
