Abstract |
In this paper, we consider a temporary transmission capacity expansion method by adding dummy nodes in wireless ad hoc network. When dummy nodes are additionally installed, the number of nodes in the network increases. As a result, the transmission range between the nodes decreases, thereby increasing the transmission capacity. We perform simulation analysis on the method. As performance measures for simulation analysis, we define average transmission distance, node ratio of successful transmission, total transmission distance and throughput. Through the simulation analysis result, the effect of increasing transmission capacity according to the change of various parameters is examined. In addition, we define the modified throughput reflecting the tradeoff relationship between the cost of adding dummy nodes and the throughput improvement, and analyze the optimal amount of dummy nodes. The analysis result of the optimal amount of dummy nodes is expected to be useful in the actual field for designing temporary wireless network performance improvement using dummy nodes considering cost. |
