Abstract TCP is a reliable transport layer protocol designed to consider only a single session connection and could not utilize resources of various paths. Today, multipath networks which has high BDP such as WiFi, 4G, 5G and satellite links have been established. and thus it is necessary to efficiently utilize resources by transmitting traffic using multiple paths, as with the MPTCP protocol. However, in a multipath including a high-speed long-distance network, there is a problem in that the traffic transmission performance of MPTCP is deteriorated, so a related congestion control study is required. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a VLIA(Virtual LIA) congestion control that works with TCP CUBIC on a large BDP path, and with LIA on ordinary path. In order to verify the proposed congestion control, the actual Linux kernel LIA congestion control source code was modified, and heterogeneous network testbeds with large and small BDP paths were constructed and the performances of LIA and VLIA were analyzed and compared. Experimental results show that the proposed VLIA utilizes 80% of the bandwidth in the high BDP path, while LIA utilizes 10-20% of the bandwidth, and compared with the existing congestion control, the resource utilization rate and the average traffic speed performance are improved in the VLIA congestion control.
