Abstract This paper proposes the ergonomic driver’s seat that can reduce the pressure on cervical and lumbar, and prevent spinal disease. Lumbar spine and cervical vertebrae are important body parts that protect the central nervous system of the human body and support body loads. The proposed seat is developed based on various angles of chair, such as back-thigh angle (BTA), back rest inclination (BRI), seat angle (SA), neck angle (NA), and prominence of lumbar support that affect the pressure on cervical and lumbar. To find optimal angles and prominence, all variables were considered simultaneously and the obtained optimal each angle of chair and prominence are applied to driver’s sheet.
