Abstract |
In this paper, we present a high-gain transimpedance amplifier (TIA) that can be adjusted in dual mode. The TIA is located at the rear end of the photodiode module and is designed to have high sensitivity and high gain for fine particle detection systems, especially fine dust detection integrated circuits. A coarse gain adjustment step using four optional loads and 16 fine adjustment steps adjusts the total gain in the range of 40dBΩ. To improve response speed, capacitive compensation is applied after adjustment of the gain. It is designed to prevent current leakage by providing a power outage condition. The circuit is designed in 0.18 μm CMOS technology and has a high gain of 190 dBΩ up to 230 dBΩ, and can be fine-tuned and adjusted by fine tuning. The input reference noise is less than 2 nA/sqrt (Hz) at low frequencies and less than 10 fA/sqrt (Hz) at 20 kHz. The power consumption of the circuit is 2.6 mW. |
