Abstract The PID controller of BLDC motor using Ziegler-Nichols tuning method to improve the speed response of BLDC motor has relatively small overshoot and long settling time. The disadvantage of the PID tuning method using the Ziegler-Nichols step response can be improved by using a fuzzy logic controller with excellent speed response and adaptability. In this paper proposes a Fuzzy PID speed control algorithm for BLDC motors based on the Ziegler-Nichols step response method. The efficiency of the proposed controller was compared with the PID speed controller using the Ziegler-Nichols step response method using Matlab 2020a and Simulink, the speed response was improved (68.83%) and the overshoot (2.822%) was confirmed to be increased.
