Abstract This paper presents a miniaturized circularly polarized (CP) stacked patch antenna for UHF band RFID applications at 860MHz∼930MHz. The impedance bandwidth is improved by the stacked patch and H-slot-coupled feeding structures. The antenna is fed by a 90? hybrid coupler through the H-slots. The proposed antenna is printed on FR4 substrate and the ground plane for the stacked-patch antenna is truncated to miniaturize the antenna size. The proposed antenna size is 15015019.5mm3 (0.46λ00.46λ00.07λ0). The measured antenna gain at 858 MHz and 915 MHz are 4.51 dBic and 5.75dBic, respectively.
