Abstract |
In this paper, the analog front-end (AFE) IC for vehicle ultrasonic sensor is designed. In the AFE, low-noise amplifier (LNA) with the input-referred noise of 5.8nV/Hz0.5 within the signal band, programmable-gain amplifier (PGA) which can control the gain from 30.5dB to 87.5dB, offset-cancellation circuit for relieving large offset voltage problem due to high gain characteristics, capacitor-sharing scheme for decreasing the area needed for high-pass filtering are included. The chip is fabricated in a 180nm CMOS process. IC measurement and distance measurement results are included. The core area occupies 1.5mm2 and total power consumption is 8.1mW for a single supply voltage of 1.8V. |
