Abstract In this paper, we propose an effective building heating and cooling approach in micro thermal grid composed of variously distributed thermal resources coupled with heat energy of district heating network. Most of conventional district heating system have been supplying heating energy from a large-scale CHP. Therefore, for enhancing the energy efficiency of micro thermal grid, it should be possible to operate the micro thermal grid made up of diverse thermal resource coupled with district heating network. Consequently, the effective building heating and cooling model based on microgrid thermal resource integrated with district heating network energy was derived, and subsequent simulation validated it’s optimized performance.
