Title Study on Luminance Correction of LED Signboard Pixels

Abstract In this paper, we designed and manufactured luminance compensation unit for luminance decrease of LED signboard pixels. The PCI to ISA interface was used as the implementation method, and the brightness of the LED signboard was implemented to be adjusted in 256(±128) steps for screen, LPM module and R, G, B. The development environment is the simulation tool QuartusII Ver. 9.1 was used, and the circuit design and PCB layout were Or_CAD Ver. 16.6, PADS Ver. 9.5 was used. In addition, the operating program for luminance correction using Visual C++ Version 6.0. As a result of luminance correction, the luminance values ??of Red, Green, and Blue are changed step by step and the luminance correction value was measured a luminance value of 1,661cd/m2 in -127 step and a luminance value of 11,426cd/m2 in +127 step. Therefore, the luminance increase and decrease according to the steps is 9,765 cd/m2 , so that the luminance according to the decrease in luminance can be corrected.
