Abstract |
For efficient energy usage or saving in smart buildings indoor sensor networks can employ visual light communication (VLC) technology. In those indoor VLC systems adaptive signal processing schemes are very needed which are robust against multipath effect, impulsive and DC biased noise rapidly changing in indoor environments. In this paper an information theoretic learning algorithm based on the biased zero-error probability criterion is proposed to employ an adaptive kernel size estimation method for the changing statistical properties. From the results of the equalization simulation, the proposed scheme yielded about 12 dB of MSE performance enhancement indicating that it can contribute considerably to performance improvement for indoor VLC sensor networks. |
