Abstract |
This paper proposes a differential current mirror level shifter (DCMLS) which can operate in wide range with low power. By using the current mirror the proposed DCMLS resolves the limitation of the conventional cross-coupled pFET level shifter (CPLS) which cannot operate in wide range due current contention. In addition the static current issue in the conventional current mirror level shifter is resolved by utilizing the differential current mirror with logic error detection. Besides, DCMLS is free from the limitations that the other level shifters suffer from such as floating node problem, requirement for intermediate supply voltage generation, and incomplete signal swing. Based on 7nm simulation results, compared to CPLS, DCMLS can widen the operating voltage range compared to 200mV at 200MHz, while achieves 60% speed improvements and 40% reduced power consumption at the same voltage condition. |
