Abstract |
In this paper, the effect of the asymmetry of the measurement environment caused by the variation in the position of the specimen on the TRL(Thru-Reflect-Line) calibration process and the resulting error in the measurement result of material properties in the free space measurement environment were investigated. If the position of the specimen is not in the center between two ports, the asymmetry induces significant difference in the measurement results of and , which causes a large error in imaginary parts of the complex permittivity and permeability. Using the average value of magnitude and phase of and measurement data allows the symmetry of the measurement system without discovering the variation in the position of the specimen and the complex permittivity and permeability are also accurately measured. |
