Abstract |
Recently, the demand for low-cost ultrasonic systems is increasing to utilize the time-difference-of-arrival (TDoA) between ultrasonic signals in IoT devices. However, the reliability of the low-cost ultrasonic systems cannot be guaranteed due to low sampling rates and noise in real-world environment. Therefore, in this paper, a time-frequency analysis-based signal processing technique is proposed to improve estimation accuracy for ultrasonic signals with low signal-to-noise ratio, and detailed techniques for computational amount management are also introduced. Furthermore, in order to verify the proposed techniques, an experiment utilizing the principle of ultrasonic flowmeter is conducted, and the TDoAs estimated in the time domain and time-frequency domain are compared. |
