Abstract |
For the installation of the FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network, an optical connector that can be assembled in the field is used. However, the field-assembled optical connector must be installed directly on the optical cable without OFD (Optical Fiber Distribution). Combining the optical connectors requires a fiber bending room to absorb the shock generated. When an optical connector is used in a low-temperature environment, an optical fiber bending causes a failure in the optical connector. In this article, a field-assembled optical connector of the fusion splicing method that can absorb the shock generated by optical fiber bending is fabricated and its characteristics are analyzed. |
