Abstract In this paper, we design and develop a OBTS(On Board Training System) for ECS(Engineering Control System) based on Virtualization. ECS is the software that supports stable operation by monitoring and controlling the ship`s propulsion system and was mainly developed by overseas companies. Recently, prototype research is being conducted to localize the ECS software and virtualization based OBTS is being studied consideration of the connectivity with the latest naval combat system. In addition, to provide high reusability and maintainability of the software, ECS OBTS is applied the software standard architecture. In this paper, based on the virtualization environment and standard architecture, the ECS OBTS that provides training functions was developed and it was shown that an availability of it can be operated through the performance analysis.
