Abstract |
Recently, the ongoing development of information communication and AI(Artificial Intelligence) technology is accelerating the realization of various new application fields, including autonomous driving, digital twin, and virtual reality. Additionally, advanced wireless localization technology plays a pivotal role in research and application of these cutting-edge technologies. Traditional wireless localization systems primarily have used GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System). However, satellite signal was not properly received in indoor or underground environments. For this reason, IPS(Indoor Positioning System) started to draw attention and various localization techniques and localization techniques using wireless communication such as cellular/Wi-Fi have been studied. In addition, various AI technologies, which are rapidly developing, not only improve the performance of wireless localization, but also solve problems that could not be solved from the conventional point of view. In this paper, we introduce the trends of wireless communication systems based wireless localization. Furthermore, we suggest new research directions and prospects based on examples of AI technologies to wireless localization. |
