| Abstract |
In this paper, we propose a spatio-temporal non-local means filter for noise reduction. The proposed method uses noise estimation and non-local means filter progressively on spatial and time data. Our proposed method using similarity-based weight reduces abrupt noise pattern and adjusts filtering according to an edge direction in the image without blurring and artifact. Thus, our proposed method not only preserves edges, but also reduces noise in uniform region. Experimental results show that our proposed method has better quality than those by existing median, gaussian, and non-local means filtering methods. |
