Abstract In this paper, we present the design, fabrication, and the measurement results of the Ka-band SSPA(Solid-State Power Amplifier) that was minimized a combine loss through the waveguide spatial combine to achieve the high efficiency and high output performance. The fabricated SSPA has the 18-channel spatial power divider and combiner structures by using WR-28 standard waveguide form. For the high output power and high efficiency, each channel of power amplifier was applied to GaN(Gallium nitride) MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) which has high-speed pulse switching performance at less than 5 ns in maximum power. The performance of proposed SSPA was measured, which shows over than 54 dBm of Tx peak power and over than 52 dBc of spurious properties.
