Abstract |
The excellent clarity and extensive color reproduction capabilities of mobile displays have become critical factors in consumers' smartphone purchasing processes. Despite continuous advancements in display technology, the issue of color shift remains an unresolved challenge. In response, this research aims to develop an efficient color shift compensation algorithm that minimizes color shifts and accurately reproduces colors in mobile displays. Through optimization, a 3D Look-Up Table (LUT) was created to propose a color shift compensation algorithm, and the performance of the algorithm was evaluated using CIE XYZ and CIE Lab color spaces. The proposed algorithm minimizes errors through the LUT and offers the advantage of reducing computational load. The algorithm has demonstrated that the error rates between the inverse function values of the R, G, B channels have decreased by 5, 10, and 3 respectively compared to before the application of the 3D LUT, and the Delta E00 value has decreased from 15.014 to 9.51. Additionally, the effectiveness of the algorithm was validated using software simulations and real data. The software simulation confirmed the applicability of the algorithm in OLED and LCD mobile displays. Finally, ablation study has laid the groundwork for extending its application to various display technologies. |
