Abstract |
There are two methods to implement Bluetooth functionality in telematics systems. The first method involves fully implementing the Bluetooth software stack on telematics processors. While the Bluetooth module cost is low, development complexity is high, taking about a year and incurring high development costs. The second method integrates the entire software stack into the Bluetooth module itself, potentially reducing development time, though module costs are relatively higher. For telematics models with low production volumes, integrating software into the Bluetooth module itself is more cost-effective. This paper designs and evaluates a cost-effective Bluetooth module suitable for telematics models with low production volumes. It covers circuit and PCB design, RF performance testing and validation, and the design of APIs to facilitate Bluetooth control in telematics systems. Finally, the developed Bluetooth module was evaluated using evaluation software. |
