Abstract Physical computing classes using Arduino are time-consuming and inconvenient if you do not have knowledge of electronic circuits. However, previous research shows that the educational effect is very large. In this study, we implemented three learning boards that enable students to learn coding with interest by observing the operation of various sensors and actuators, rather than for the purpose of learning electronic circuits. The developed learning board is composed of a sensor board → signal processing board → actuator board based on the process of a sensor application system, and has the advantage of being able to focus on control coding by easily and selectively connecting sensors and actuators. This learning board can be used as a teaching aid for physical computing from elementary school to college. The learning board is modularly composed of sensor, signal processing, and actuator boards, making it easier to maintain and upgrade, and more versatile. In the future, the researchers who developed the learning board plan to conduct training for middle and high school teachers who are interested in coding education to have the opportunity to raise the efficiency and performance of the learning board to the next level.
