Abstract This paper is a study on a method of detecting the landing point of a ball using data from sensors used in automated game scoreboards, a new system in the 4th industrial era. In most sports events, referees check the rules and decide the score of the game. In a table tennis game with a small number of people, a way to increase the number of participants on behalf of the umpire is to use an automated game scoreboard. In order to turn a table tennis game that lasts every second into exercise material, a lot of video storage space and post-processing are required. The collection of landing point information added to the automated scoreboard is simple data that can be stored and processed in real time. It is predicted that if the table structure is modified in the future, more precise data can be obtained and utilization will be further expanded. By implementing a method to calculate the landing position using landing information on a table, we showed that it can be used as exercise information by automatically displaying scores and simultaneously storing the landing point segmentation zone. Accumulated landing point data is expected to help improve players' skills
