Abstract True Random Number Generator (TRNG) is a hardware-based random number generator that provides high randomness by generating entropy source-based random numbers that occur in unpredictable physical phenomena. So far, various TRNG implementation methods have been studied, and among them, Spin Transfer Torque Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (STT-MRAM)-based TRNG is a method that generates random numbers by utilizing the thermal noise of MRAM, and the technology provides advantages such as fast speed, low power consumption, and area. This paper covers the overall contents of STT-MRAM-based TRNG and proposes a method to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the technology.
