Abstract |
This study analyzes the discourse surrounding On-Device AI in online news media through semantic network analysis to examine how emerging technology is socially perceived and contextualized. Using Korea Press Foundation's BIGKinds platform, 8,178 news articles related to On-Device AI published from January to December 2024 were collected, processed through morphological analysis, and filtered using TF-IDF weighting to extract the top 50 keywords. Centrality analysis revealed that "Samsung," "Electronics," and "Market" ranked highest across all centrality measures, confirming Samsung Electronics' dominant position in domestic On-Device AI discourse, while keywords such as "Semiconductor," "Global," and "Enterprise" also demonstrated high centrality. Through CONCOR analysis, seven semantic clusters were identified: the first cluster represents market-leading companies, the second encompasses technology innovation and global services, the third covers industrial ecosystems and product strategies, the fourth addresses economic performance and investment prospects, the fifth focuses on global technology company competition, the sixth involves consumer product implementation, and the seventh pertains to semiconductor and consumer electronics industry strategies. These findings demonstrate that On-Device AI has transcended mere technological advancement to establish itself as a new paradigm in the digital transformation era, with discourse forming around it across multiple dimensions including technology, industry, and economics. |
