| Abstract |
In neurological disorders ? particularly neurodegenerative diseases, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) ? the rapid and accurate identification of the lesion’s location and extent is a critical determinant of clinical prognosis. The fusion of EEG and fNIRS signals provides neurophysiological interaction information that is difficult to obtain from a single modality, thereby suggesting potential applications in diagnosis, neurorehabilitation monitoring, and AI-based brain function research. This review comprehensively examines recent research trends in EEG?fNIRS fusion techniques, which are non-invasive and allow repetitive measurements among brain bio-signal?based approaches. With future advances in precise signal fusion, wearable sensor technologies, and real-time analysis efficiency, EEG?fNIRS?based multimodal analysis techniques are expected to play an essential role in the early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and neurofunctional studies of various brain disorders. |
