Abstract	A novel technique that combines transmit diversity and receive beamforming is proposed, referred to as a selective transmission diversity (STD)-based hybrid system. Through outage probability analysis, we demonstrate that the proposed STD-based hybrid system provides performance gains over conventional diversity-only or beamforming-only systems.
