| Abstract |
Unlike general vehicles, autonomous vehicle application services must stably satisfy very high QoS requirements end-to-end. However, research on end-to-end QoS support technology for autonomous vehicle application services in a dynamic vehicle network environment is extremely limited worldwide. Meanwhile, for fully autonomous driving, the creation and maintenance of dynamic vehicle networks using vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V) and vehicle-to- infrastructure(V2I) communication are essential, but the legacy VANET has limitations in supporting real-time dynamic routing technology due to its location-centric communication model (TCP/IP) when high-speed vehicles are moving, thus requiring an innovative alternative. VNDN (Vehicular Named Data Networking) is more effective in creating and maintaining dynamic networks between high-speed moving vehicles compared to VANET due to its location-independent data-centric networking. In this paper, we aim to derive element techniques that can guarantee end-to-end autonomous driving application service QoS support in the SDN-based VNDN environment by combining SDN and VNDN, which provides data plane central control and integrated management functions. Selective forwarding, queuing policy, mobility management, resource management, caching, and security technologies were identified as key enabling technologies for satisfying QoS metrics such as end-to-end delay, packet loss, efficiency, scalability, throughput, and confidentiality in autonomous driving application services. |
