Abstract This paper describes the results of an experimental study on the reversed T-shaped composite beams which developed for air conditioning systems in the building. The developed reversed T-shaped composite beams are outstanding story height reduction systems which can install duct and OA equipment within the depth of the concrete floor slab. Four full-scaled simply supported bending tests were conducted on the encased composite beams with different shear connections. Test results showed that the developed composite beams had a sufficient composite action and ductility. The shear bonding stress detected 0.1N/㎟.
