Abstract The load bearing capacity of glass column might depend on the kind of glass, geometric characteristics and the support condition. Glass is a material that is able to resist very high compression stresses but due to their high slenderness, these elements tend to fail due to instability. Especially, in case of a laminated glass column, its strength depends strongly on the behavior of PVB(Polyvinyl Butyral). The contribution on bucking tests of single and laminated glass column was submitted. It was pointed out that the influence factor on the buckling load of laminated glass column is not the kind of glass but is the initial crookedness and PVB's shear modulus. In this paper, the influence of the initial crookedness and PVB's shear modulus is described. The proper value of the initial crookedness and PVB's shear modulus to estimate the bucking load of laminated glass column under centric load and room temperature will be given.
