Abstract |
Until now, mono-column concrete wind turbine towers have been mainly applied for the high-rise wind turbine towers over 120 m, but as a new type, multi-column concrete wind turbine tower can be considered as an economical alternative. In this study, PHC pile joints were developed to apply ready-made PHC piles to multi-column wind turbine towers and performance tests were conducted on them. The fabricated specimens consisted of two specimens with connecting parts and one specimen without connecting parts for performance comparison. The cross-sectional analysis and performance tests were carried out for each specimen. From the results of cross-sectional analysis, it was confirmed that the moment resistance increased more than three times when the filling and post-tensioning were performed on the ready-made PHC file. Also, it is confirmed that the analysis results and the experimental results agree with each other with a slight difference. The results of this study can be applied to the design and construction of multi-column wind tower using PHC pile.
