Abstract |
A latex modified concrete was developed for traffic opening at the age of 24 hours and its mechanical properties and durability characteristics were experimentally evaluated. In the mix proportions, the cement content was replaced by CSA-based admixture with replacement rates of 0 %, 10% and 15 % while three latex addition rates to cement, including 0 %, 5 % and 10 %, were employed. Compressive and flexural strengths were satisfactory except for the M1 specimen without CSA admixture. For the bond strength, M1, M3, M4 and M5 specimens satisfied the required strength of 1.4 MPa, except the specimens without CSA admixture. In the rapid freezing and thawing test, the relative dynamic modulus and mass change rate of more than 95 % showed excellent freezing and thawing resistance performance. In addition, in the chloride ion penetration resistance test, the amount of passing charge of all the test specimens were measured to be less than 1,000 coulombs. In the accelerated carbonation experiment, excellent carbonation resistance performance was confirmed by the experimental results for a 10 % latex addition ratio and a 10 % replacement rate of CSA-based admixture. Based on the experimental results, it was confirmed that the M4 specimen using 10 % CSA-based admixture and 10 % latex showed excellent experimental results.
