Abstract |
Used deicing chemicals for smooth transportation an safety during winter. but, these chemicals cause damage to the covers of reinforced concrete structures and damage continuously occur as the amount of deicing chemicals is increased. In this study, the failure test of a reinforced concrete slab without shear reinforcement was performed considering the cover condition parameters. The main experimental variables were set to three types: original slab, cover damaged slab, and recovered slab. As a result of the experiment, the fracture strength of the cover damaged RC slab was reduced by 70 %. The fracture strength of the recovered RC slab containing Latex was restored by 50 %. The fracture strength of the recovered RC slab using a shear connector was restored to 80 %. Therefore, it is considered that the use of shear connectors is very effective in recovering sections.
