Abstract This work examined the structural behavior of a grip coupler used in an arch deck when combined with rebars. To assess the structural behavior, finite element analysis was performed before and after gripping, and 3D modeling of the couplers and rebars was also undertaken. Plastic deformation occurs when a coupler and reinforcement are connected, so an element that considered this factor was selected. By subtracting the fixed load and the displacement load from the analysis modeling, the maximum load could be calculated.
