Abstract In this study, the P-M interaction diagram of concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) columns subjected to asymmetric fires was obtained through sequentially coupled thermal-stress analysis using Abaqus, a general-purpose finite element analysis program. To validate the analysis model for CFT columns subjected to fire, the fire resistance times of 67 specimens obtained through numerical analysis were compared with experimental results from two institutes. The P-M interaction diagram was obtained by fixing the fire exposure time and varying the eccentricity and axial force, following a verified analysis procedure with modified sequences.
