Abstract |
In this study, in order to investigate the hysteretic behavior of precast concrete (PC) intermediate structural walls according to the shear reinforcement details of the vertical joint, repeated lateral force tests were conducted. on PC walls with three details of horizontal reinforcement within the vertical joint: conventional loop reinforcement, loop reinforcement rotated 90°, and head reinforcement confined by spiral reinforcement. The results showed that, regardless of the detail of the vertical connection, all specimens exhibited similar failure patterns and hysteretic responses, with displacement ratios at maximum strength of approximately 1 %. The vertical connection with head reinforcement confined by spiral reinforcement showed the highest strength and reinforcement efficiency. All three details were found to satisfy the performance requirements of PC intermediate structural walls specified by current Korean standards.
