Abstract |
Disinfection of Escherichia coli(E. coli) (∼2×10³ cells/mL) in reservoir water (100mL) was demonstrated by photocatalysis using UV-illuminated titanium dioxide(TiO₂) powder and thin film sup ported on a Pyrex tube. In the experiments employing T₁O₂, powder, when UV light was employed, all of the E. coli cells were killed photocatalytically in less than 15 min.. Meanwhile, the total disinfection of E. coli was achieved in less than 3 hours for the film. |
