Factors Affecting Photocatalytic Degradation of Formic Acid in a Circular Type Reactor Using TiO2 Powders |
Abstract |
The factors, such as number of column employed, flow rate of solution, dissolved oxygen(DO), TiO₂(titanium dioxide) powder dose, and addition of hydrogen peroxide(H₂O₂), affecting the reaction efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of formic acid(HCOOH) in a circular type reactor were investigated. As the number of column employed and the flow rate of solution increased, the reaction rate of photocatalytic degradation of HCOOH were enhanced. The higher the concentration of DO existed in solution, the better the reaction efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of HCOOH improved. Meanwhile, as the TiO₂ powder dosage increased from lg/ℓ to 3g/ℓ, the photocatalytic degradation rate of HCOOH decreased. Addition of H₂O₂ enhanced the rate of photocatalytic degradation of HCOOH. |
