Abstract The characteristics of rainwater through the first flush cutoff system, hydrocyclone and sedimentation basin was investigated to utilize the rainwater from a pavement area. This study was conducted in K university located in Seoul through Apr. 2002 to Sep. 2002. The pH, turbidity, SS, color, COD, particle size was decreased to 50-80% compared to those influx through the first flush cutoff system. The removal rate of contaminants by hydrocyclone and sedimentation basin for pH, turbidity, SS was 50~60% and 40~50%, respectively.
