Abstract In the present study the heating characteristics of the by passed heat pump using an inverter compressor are experimentally investigated. The test is executed in two rooms of identical condition. To one test room it established the Heat pump, to the other it established the electricity heater. During the test, the each room was maintained with 23oC. The purpose of the test is comparison with heat pump and electricity heater power consumption. At the result of the test, heat pump is saved on electric power consumption 59.5% than electric heater. At total supplied heat, heat pump supply 18,878 kcal and electricity heater supply 1,110 kcal. COP of heat pump is 2.87. When outdoor temperature is high, the COP value was high.
