Abstract |
This study was to investigate a child-centered universal design applicability of 5 Marts in Daejon City, and to suggest design improvements of it. The child-centered universal design in access & movement, convenience, information service and safety were examined through the field survey with the questionnaire of 5-Likert scale. The survey team were 4 students per a Mart, and so 20 students checked out them. As the results, the improvements of child centered design were as follow. 1) The information service design of access & movement to stores, parking, entrance, emergency exit/elevator/escalator, toilet & baby room was not easily visible anywhere to children-parents. 2) The physical safety was poor on walking to the entrance & a reading area of bookstore, and the psychological safety was very poor in a care room for missing child, a reading area of bookstore and a baby room. |
