Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the propagation characteristics from floor impact noise in compliancewith investigation standards of insulation performances, measurements and evaluations, It is also to understand char-acteristics of measurement factors in floor impact noise of apartment houses. Three unoccupied apartments were selectedfor the experiment. The Measurement criteria and evaluation criteria of floor impact noise specified in the Korea Stan-dard 2810-1, 2810-2, 2863-1 and 2863-2 were for this study. According to this study, 1) The result of measurementposition shows that light-weight impact sound is similar to the center and end on the slab, but the difference of heavy-weight impact sound is about 1.5~2.2dB in the range of around 63~500Hz. Especially, it indicates some deviation inthe range of 63Hz. 2) In order to get the better performance of the floor impact sound insulation, the larger slabdepth is required. 3) Both parts of the side wall and top floor show better performance than others, because the toppestfloor ceiling’s height needs extra depth of 180mm, comparing to the others depth between typical floor slab andceiling for installation of a water sprinkler. 4) the experiments of unit A and unit B in apartment (type of flat) showbetter performances in floor impact sound insulation than the experiment of unit C apartment (type of tower).
