Abstract Population increases caused by a district’s redevelopment, in which one elementary school is in charge ofincreases the number of students in that elementary school. In turn, this increase in number of students results inexcessively large-scale schools and overpopulated classrooms, which can lead to the problem of not being able toprovide quality education. Therefore, as a method to procure lacking elementary school facilities caused by redevel-opment, the objective of this study is to present a direction for small-scaled elementary construction plans using thelower-level spaces in redevelopment apartment complexes.
