Abstract This study was aimed to investigate the actual situation of the napkin consumption in Korea and Japan. The actual situation of consumption and the recognizability of the hazardous substances were investigated by questionnaire. It is necessary to survey that the consciousness and actual condition of usage on disposable sanitary products due to increasing amount of usage from menarche to menopause in women. In the survey, the subjects were 20~40 years old and lived in Korea and Japan. The statistical method used was simple frequency. The consumption of disposable sanitary products was almost all compared to the use of cloth pads and the use of both disposable sanitary products and cloth pads in Korea and Japan. It was thought that an advantage of disposable sanitary products was that they were easy to wear. Most of subjects experienced the dermatological problem after using the disposable napkins.
